Meet Dixie Dursteler and learn a few beady things about her.1. When did you begin beading and why? I Started about 12 years ago when my niece thought it would be fun for us.
2. What motivates you in your designs? Texture, color, and just plain design. Actually, I get a lot of satisfaction in creating, I guess.
3. How do you buy your beads? For instance, do you buy with a pattern in hand, by osmosis, because you like the beads, etc. I do buy beads I can't resist and sometimes, I actually do have a project in mind.
4. Who are some of your favorite bead artists and why? The girls I bead with weekly at Cosmopolitan Beads are my favorite bead artists since I get to see their projects being worked on, then get to see the finished beauties which are truly amazing. I've learned a lot from them.
5. If money were no issue, what beads/stones would you want to work with? Diamonds, rubies, emerands, etc. Actually I really do enjoy the variety of really nice lampwork beads, nicely designed silver and gold beads and fun findings.
